Milan Kolacek Claims Strong 8th Place in Transat Café L’OR

Czech sailor Milan Kolacek and co-skipper Pierre Brasseur delivered a solid performance at the Transat Café L’OR, crossing the finish line in 8th place overall aboard their Marina21-sponsored boat “Inland Roots Ocean Soul.” After 17 days, 4 hours, and just over 2 minutes at sea, they proved they belong among the top competitors in this demanding transatlantic challenge.

The duo finished on November 18th, arriving just 14 minutes behind 7th place. That narrow margin after more than two weeks of sailing shows just how competitive this race was – positions were decided by minutes rather than hours.

The Transat Café L’OR isn’t your typical weekend regatta. This two-stage transatlantic event from Le Havre tests double-handed crews across every dimension of offshore sailing – weather routing, equipment management, sleep deprivation, and the physical demands of handling a high-performance boat with just two people around the clock.

Kolacek and Brasseur faced a fleet stacked with experienced offshore sailors, many competing at the highest levels of ocean racing. Finishing in the top ten against this caliber of competition represents a strong result, particularly in double-handed racing where every decision matters and there’s no crew to share the workload.

We are immensely proud to be part of this journey. Marina21 brand has been proudly standing behind Milan Kolacek as sponsors, and we wish to congratulate Milan and Pierre for this impressive result and toast for many more successes to come!
